Rachel Fields takes prizes in Sacramento

29 October 2013

The Sacramento International Horse Show was organised from October 1st until 6th in California (USA). The show turned out to be very successful for Rachel Fields of Sandhaven Farm. The American rider was placed no less than 13 times. She had most success in the final for 7-year-olds. She became first and second.

She won the finals with Cyrano Z (Crown Z x Contender). This victory was not a surprise: she had already won the two qualifying rounds with Cyrano Z. Fields became second in the finals for 7-year-olds with Ballerina (Carolus II x Pharaon xx). This horse is owned by Vicki Juelsgaard and was bought at the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2012.

The Dutch Sport Horse Sales is an auction for talented 4-, 5- and 6-year-old show jumpers which is held annually.

The classes for 4- to 7-year-olds during the Sacramento International Horse Show are not only graded on penalty points and time faults. There are also three judges that grade the combinations on style of riding and technique. The judges judge the horses three days in a row.

Rachels husband, Jeffrey Fields was also places 13 times. He became second in the 1.10m class, amongst others, with Live Fire. This horse is also owned by Vicki Juelsgaard.
