Oliva: Marc Bettinger and Barino victorious in Grand Prix

25 January 2017

During the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in the Spanish Oliva, the German rider Marc Bettinger has put down a phenomenal performance with Dutch Sport Horse Sales horse Barino (Larino x N-Aldato) in the CSI2* Grand Prix on 1.45m level. He rode an amazing jump-off with the eleven-year-old gelding, which resulted in first place.

In total 21 combinations got qualified for the jump-off, with seven double clear rounds. Many big names were participating in the Grand Prix, amongst others Vincent Voorn, Emma Augier de Moussac and Rogier Linssen. The jump-off was a true battle. Eventually, Bettinger and Barino took home the gold medal with only 0.02 second faster than the runner-up, the Italian Emanuele Massimilliano Bianchi.

Barino was sold during the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2010 and has received multiple top-5 rankings with Bettinger. Last year November, they became third during the CSI3* op 1.45m level in the Algerian city Mostaganem, where they finished in fourth place in the CSI3* Grand Prix on 1.50m level. In the Swiss city Lausanne they became second during the CSI5* on 1.40m level.

The Dutch Sport Horse Sales and Stal Hendrix hereby congratulate Bettinger and Barino with their amazing victory.
