International victories for Viper Z and Gamble

A large number of horses that have been sold in the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in recent years perform well in international showjumping. This also applies to the Vingino son Gamble and the Vigo d’Arsouilles son Viper Z, who both achieved high-profile victories last week.

After Viper Z broke the auction record in 2021, he immediately continued his sports career under Martin Fuchs with good results. Last week, the 9yo gelding made his 5* debut at Royal Windsor and claimed a victory in the 1.50m class right away. “It was very nice for him to start his first 5* with a 1.50m win,” Martin said, adding that there is ‘always pressure’ when producing a horse, regardless of its price tag. “Viper was already good when we got him, although still quite green, and could be a little bit tense in some of the arenas, so usually he gets better by the day at a show. I always knew he’d be a grand prix horse and win a lot of classes.”

After a break of a few months, the in 2015 auctioned Vingino offspring Gamble has also returned into the spotlights. He already was successful at 1.60m level with Conor Swail and in San Juan Capistrano they won the 2* Welcome Stake ánd the Speed Stake. “It’s great to see Gamble winning back-to-back. He has a few months off and it’s nice to see him back up in the good form that he finished in last year.”
