Hilton and Iberlina win YH classes

25 November 2019

Several horses auctioned in the Dutch Sport Horse Sales have performed well last week. At the international competition at Equestrian Centre De Peelbergen, two victories were claimed by DSHS horses. Hilton won the seven-year-old class on Friday ridden by Niels Bulthuis, and Lisa Candin took the victory with Iberlina in the five- and six-year-olds class on Saturday.

In the 1.35m for seven-year-olds, it turned out that no one was able to keep up with Niels Bulthuis aboard the Contendros son Hilton (ds.Carolus II, breeder A. de Crom), who was auctioned at the DSHS in 2016. No fewer than 20 pairs remained clear in both the first and second phase and Niels did that with Hilton in the fastest time. He was even more than a second faster than Sophie Hinners and Hendrick’s HX (s.Bustique), who ended up second. A day earlier, Niels and Hilton had already won the second prize in the two-phase 1.35m for seven-year-olds.

Promising combination
On Saturday Lisa Candin achieved the best result in the combined class for five and six year olds. With the six-year-old Iberlina (Vittorio x N-Aldato, breeder Jean Dresen) she remained clear in the fastest time in this 1.30m class. The well-jumping grey mare was part of this year’s collection of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales and forms a promising combination with her Romanian rider.
