Dutch Sport Horse Sales 2012 big success

WEERT – The ninth edition of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales will be remembered as a very successful auction. Both national and international buyers showed a lot of interest for the 25 promising show jumpers that all showed talent, health and quality. The auction of carefully selected 4-, 5- and 6-year-old showjumpers attracted many buyers from over the entire world. With a price of €200.000, the Harley VDL-son Cupido was the most expensive horse sold during the Dutch Sport Horse Sales 2012.
The selection committee which consists of Paul and Emile Hendrix, Neil Jones and Yves Houtackers, again succeeded to select a very exclusive collection of top talent. Over the years, the Dutch Sport Horse Sales build up an excellent reputation due to the exclusively top-quality auction horses. In the international sport, horses that have been scouted and were sold at the Dutch Sport Horse Sales come to the forefront over and over again. Despite the recession, the 2012 edition of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales achieved astonishing results.
The average sales price was €86.520. The most expensive horse Cupido, who was finalist at the competition for 5-year-old showjumpers ridden by Michel Hendrix. The 6-year-old Ballerina (Carolus II x Pharaon xx) was also highly appreciated by the buyers, the mare was sold for €190.000.
Quality is recognized and shown by the prices for Cassanova (v.Carolus II, €180.000), Chapeau (v.Indoctro, €170.000) and Cloe (v.Harley VDL, €165.000). These horses created interesting bidding duels between national and international buyers.
Next to the excellent collection horses and turnover, the fantastic atmosphere and the large interest by the audience contributed to the success of the 2012-edition of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales at ‘De IJzeren Man’ in Weert. For more information check www.dutchsporthorsesales.com.
