DSHS references Istinov and Iris to international victories

3 May 2021

It was another weekend full of great results for references from the Dutch Sport Horse Sales. Istinov s.Ustinov) and Iris (s.Starpower) were able to emerge as winners in Opglabbeek and Lier, and other horses auctioned in the past have also achieved good results.

Under the Carpe Diem rider Omer Karaevli, the in 2018 auctioned Istinov (s.Ustinov) showed his qualities in Thursday’s two phase 1.35m class for seven- and eight-year-olds at CSI2* Sentower Park. With that, the duo beated more than 70 combinations. At another Belgian hotspot, Lier, it was the Starpower mare Iris that could be honored as the winner. Under Shane O’Meara this mare jumped a great round in the 1.30m speed class. In the same class, Shane ended up on the fifth place aboard the Zirocco Blue VDL daughter Haranta, which was -just like Iris- auctioned in 2017.

In Grimaud, France, two DSHS references have competed successfully at the CSI4*. The Bustique son Golia, the auction topper of 2017, finished third in the 1.45m against the time class under Marlon Zanotelli. At the same show, the Harley VDL son Constable II jumped to the sixth prize in the 1.50m class with Laura Kraut. Besides that, the second place in the National Grand Prix of Woodside went to Roque 3’s Icebreaker under Dakoda Mower. This son of Nabab de Rêve, formerly known as Investment, was sold in the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2018.
