Bronze for Steeghs and Everest in Lanaken

19 September 2016

Yesterday, the World Championships for Young Horses took place at Domain Zangersheide in Lanaken. Luc Steeghs put down a great performance with Carambole-son Everest, who was sold in 2013 during the Dutch Sport Horse Sales. The combination finished in a great third place in the final for 7-year-old horses!

The stands were packed and there was a great atmosphere. The 7-year-old horses were waiting for a tough final. When the jump off started it was silent. The crowd was waiting in excitement. Luc Steeghs and Everest did not suffer under the heavy pressure and kept themselves together. That was rewarded! They finished third with an amazing clear round! Thierry Goffinet ran off with gold and Lorenzo de Luca finished in second place.

Everest was sold during Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2013. He is one of the many succesfull horses of the wellknown auction. Other jumpers acting on international level from the DSHS high level are the successful Viper Vrombautshoeve Z (by Verdi) under Emma Heise and Grand Prix-winner Apart (by Larino) under Pieter Devos. The 13th edition of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales will take place in Kronenberg tomorrow. The selection committee has once again managed to put together a nice collection. In total 27 young talented showjumpers will go under the hammer.
