2nd place Escoffier and Werner Muff

6 February 2017

It was already clear during the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2014: Escoffier (Lord Z x Numero Uno) will achieve great things in his career. Last year November the Lord Z-son won gold twice at the CSIYH1 * in Munich. This time the Austrian Villach, Treffen, was the scene of the good performance of the eight-year-old talent. Under the Swiss rider Werner Muff he managed to get some top placements. One of the highlights was their second place at 1.40m level.

The combination came into action several times. Thursday February 2nd, they appeared at the start during the CSIYH1 * at 1.35m level. They ended up in a decent fifth place with a clear round. The day after they took part in the CSIYH1 * two phases at 1.35m level, where they became sixth with two clear rounds.

On Sunday February 5th, they participated in the CSIYH1 * at 1.40m level. They had no faults in the first round and went into the jump-off with high expectations. In the final battle they also managed to stay clear. The combination ended just behind the winner, who was only 0.40 second ahead of Muff and Escoffier.
