Seven DSHS horses qualified for World Championships
3 September 2011
The young horses sold at auction are extremely successful. At least seven horses sold during Dutch Sport Horse Sales have qualified for the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken.
Appelflap (Silverstone x Libero H x Notaris), sold during the 2009 auction, has qualified for the 6-year-old jumping horses ridden by the Swedish rider Clarissa Crotta.
With a fantastic third place during the Swedish Championships for
six-year-old horses, held in Norköpping, Siri Swärd secured a highly-desired place in the World Championships with her Guidam x Olisco x Concorde mare Alea, purchased in 2009.
Riding the reserve Dutch Champion of the 4-year-old jumping horses of 2010, Born to be Wild (Ustinov x Wolfgang x Apple), pictured in the photo ridden by Rob van Bussel, Siri Swärd will compete in the 5-year-old jumping horses class during the World Championships.
Born to be Wild was sold during Dutch Sport Horse sales 2010.
Last year the Swedish rider Kristin Nyberg gained a fantastic fourth place, with her talented Aysatti (No Limit x Creool x Casimir), in the five-year-old jumping horses class during the World Championships in Lanaken. This year she hopes to match the result with Aysatti, who was purchased by the Backsell family in 2009.
Kristin has also qualified for the seven-year-old jumping horses class with the chic and nicely-jumping Zico. This Casco x Calvados x Goodwill grey gelding was also purchased by the Swedish Backsell family during Dutch Sport Horse Sales 2009.
The Swedish rider Ericka Lickhammer has qualified for the six-year-old jumping horses class with Aragorn (No Limit x Holland x Naturel), who was sold during the 2010 auction.
VDL Groep Zorro (Emilion x Nimmerdor x Ariban) ridden by Leopold van Asten, has qualified for the 7-year-old jumping horses. VDL Groep Zorro was purchased by VDL Groep during Dutch Sport Horse Sales 2008 and won earlier this year the Youngster class during CSI Bonnheiden (Belgium) .
Dutch Sport Horse Sales wishes all combinations good luck during the World Championships for Young Jumping Horses, which will be held from 22nd-25th September in Lanaken, Belgium.
