DSHS horses performed well in Valkenswaard

23 May 2019

For three weeks, young and more experienced horses competed at the international competitions in Valkenswaard. Several DSHS horses showed their skills on the beautiful grounds of Jan Tops. For example, the Starpower TN mare Iris won a six-year-old class, Larca van Erpecom jumped to second prize in the 1.40m class and Glamour Girl performed with her new rider.

The Kashmir van ‘t Schuttershof mare Larca van Erpecom was sold at the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2016, and competed in Valkenswaard this week with Jack O’Donohue. The eight-years-old mare is owned by Manton Grange Stables and finished second in the 1.40m class on Monday, while she has already won a sixth prize on the same level last week. In her first 2*-Grand Prix (1.45m) Larca van Erpecom finished with only one time penalty yesterday.

Iris wins
Another asset of the Manton Grange Stables is the mare Iris. This Starpower TN-mare performs with Tom Slattery, and she won the 1.30m class for six-year-olds in the second week in Valkenswaard. This week the successful duo finished sixth in the final due to two clear rounds. The same rider also achieved success with the six-year-old Ici (s.Douglas), who was auctioned last year. Thanks to several clear rounds, they jumped three times in to a top ten ranking, including a fifth place in the second week.

Glamour Girl
Also the Zirocco Blue VDL mare Glamour Girl, auctioned in 2016, showed her jumping skills in Valkenswaard. The mare was successful Charlotte Bettendorf until a few months ago and is now performing with her new rider Gaj Riossa. In the first week of CSI2* Valkenswaard they jumped double clear to the seventh prize in the 1.40m class, and a week later they ended up third on the same level.
