Illusion is from the first crop of foals by the good sire and Grand Prix stallion Don Diablo HX. Purchased by Stal Hendrix as a foal, he is developing into a horse for the elite sport. Six-year-old Illusion boasts a remarkably good way of jumping, with excellent front leg technique as well as an excellent finish to his jump. With other offspring including Irmette Balia PJ, Jauanda T and Kardinaal HX, Illusion’s sire Don Diablo HX is making inroads in the breeding industry. Illusion’s dam is the 1.35m-classified jumper Viola, a half-sister to the international 1.40/1.45m show jumpers Whizz Kid (s.Carnute) and Chiara (s.Carthino Z). Next this dam-line traces back to the mare Golinda, who enjoys renown as the dam of the Grand Prix show jumper Vasco da Gama 3 (s.Quito de Baussy), ridden by Wolfgang Ötschmaier; and as the granddam of Hayley Barnhill’s Grand Prix horse Zephire (s.Coriano) as well as the KWPN stallion Silverstar (s.Corland). Other international show jumpers out of this direct dam-line are Fino SL (s.Corofino) and G-Star SL (s.Indoctro).
