The ideal mix of talent, scope and rideability
While sire Kannan Jr. is making a name for himself in the sport under the saddle of Jur Vrieling, his oldest offspring are confirming his great potential in breeding. Obelix comes from the first crop of KWPN champion stallion Kannan Jr., who made a successful debut this summer at the age of ten at 5*-1.60m level in Monte Carlo. Obelix is blessed with a fantastic skill set of unlimited scope, power and the right amount of blood. In addition, this six-year-old gelding is very easy to ride and has a great attitude, raising the expectations for him to succeed at the higher level of the sport. His dam Upper Class produced Hamilton-AL (by Numero Uno) who jumped up to 1.40m level with Anthony Philippaerts, and she herself is a half-sister to the 1.40m-ranked Colmira (by Ol Metta). This versatile Dutch dam line also produced the 1.50m-ranked jumper Fredrike (by Ukato) ridden by Soline Willemann Aubry.
