The Verdi son Hunk was purchased as a five-year-old in Twente and trained by Willy van der Ham. Currently, the six-year-old grey is jumping 1.30m courses with playful ease. His sire Verdi is still competing at the highest level under Maikel van der Vleuten and emerging as a sire of show jumpers for the highest level. Chaplin (Martin Fuchs), Baronescha (Stefanie van den Brink), Cuidam (Manuel Fernandez Saro), Comic (Luiz Francisco de Azevedo) and Chief (Alonso Valdez Prado) are just a few examples of Grand Prix-level offspring by Verdi. In addition, Hunk is out of the Cavalier daughter Present, a former 1.35m-level show jumper and half-sister to the Grand Prix jumper Talent, ridden by Jonna Ekberg.
