Irish rider Ronan Mc Guigan had a successful show in Wellington (USA) with his horse Capall Zidane (Concorde x Baloubet du Rouet). The combination was placed 4th in the Grand Prix and 2nd in the 1.45 class. Both during the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival.
The 1.45m class took place at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington on January 10th. They had a clear round with a time of 32.452. Which resulted in a 2nd place. The American rider Alise Oken was 2 seconds faster with her Tolano van ’t Riethof offspring Teirra.
Mc Guigan again put down a good result in the Grand Prix on Saturday. Seven out of the 43 combinations placed themselves for the jump-off. Mc Guigan and Capall Zidane had the second best time but had one down and became fourth.
These good results again show that Capall Zidane really reserves the title ‘Horse of the Year 2012’, which he got during the Dutch Sport Horse Sales last year. Capall Zidane was sold during the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2009 in Weert, The Netherlands.
